Hip-Hop star Snoop Dogg and athletic company Cutter Gloves will recognize and award football players and cheerleaders of the Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL) during the SYFL’s All-Conference Championship game today (December 2) at the Home Depot in Carson, CA.
Each year Snoop Dogg and sponsor Cutter Gloves honors members based on their academic progress, sportsmanship and character.

R&B singer Akon may be living up to his "Konvict" status. The Senegalese sensation has been charged with a misdemeanor for tossing a teenage fan off the stage at a concert this spring.
Akon hurled a teenager off the stage at a concert in Fishkill, N.Y. this June for throwing an object at him; the teenager hit concertgoer Abby Rosa, who suffered a concussion and later asked for an apology. [Watch a video of the incident here]

Florida rapper Rick Ross has moved the release date of his new album Trilla to '08.
According to Billboard, the artist's sophomore effort Trilla is now set to hit shelves on February 19, pushed back from its original release date of December 18. The disc is the follow-up to his 2006 debut, Port of Miami, via Slip-N-Slide/Def Jam.
